On September 2024, the draft Law on Digital Technology Industry has been submitted to the Government.
The Law on Digital Technology Industry (currently in review) defines digital assets, including blockchain-based encrypted assets (yes, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, etc.), and outlines policies for managing, testing, and promoting the development of digital technologies such as artificial intelligence, digital data, and the semiconductor industry. The law also encourages international cooperation and the establishment of a blockchain ecosystem to foster innovation, sustainable development, and global integration.
The DTI Law is promised to be the foundation to establish and build up instituition in blockchain industry. It will be one of the most impactful factor for the Blockchain industry in Vietnam: from crypto traders, builders, writers, enterprises, etc.

Back in 2021, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called for a research on crypto legal framework.
On January 4, 2024: Ho Chi Minh and Da Nang city announced plans to establish new regional and international financial centers (financial hubs) in Vietnam.
October 2024: The Vietnamese government signed the National Blockchain Strategy, aiming to position Vietnam as the regional leader in blockchain technology by 2030.

Starting in 2025: The Communist Party of Vietnam launched the "Era of National Aspiration", targeting Vietnam's development into a developed nation. This initiative prioritizes national security, economic growth, and technological advancement - with special emphasis on digital technology and innovation as key pillars.
January 15th, 2025: General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam, To Lam, tasked OneMount Group with developing a layer-1 blockchain for the country (likely a private blockchain). The company has committed to investing $200-500M USD in building the network.
